Fascinating Places

What is the most fascinating place you have ever seen? It could be something you saw in the United States as well as a site you visited out of the country.

In my case, I would say that the Grand Canyon is the most spectacular site I have visited. If you ever have a chance, try and get there. In fact, I have found that Northern Arizona itself is quite spectacular. The mountain cities of Sedona and Flagstaff are quite beautiful and are certainly a contrast to the desert cities of Phoenix and Tucson.

Internationally, without a doubt, the Great Barrier Reef in Northern Australia is the most amazing site I have seen. I went snorkeling there many years ago. It's unbelievable! I've also snorkeled in the Caribbean, the U.S. and Mexico but they don't compare to the Great Barrier Reef.

Runners-up would include some of the magnificent waterfalls in Iceland (because you can get very close to them) as well as Uluru (Ayer's Rock) in Central Australia. Both are really once-in-a lifetime experiences. In the U.S. I've also enjoyed the beaches of San Diego and San Francisco. And of course, standing in New York City's Time Square at night is something not to be missed.

Unfortunately, I have not had the pleasure of experiencing very many different places in the world thus far, though I do enjoy the wonder of travel very much. At this point in my life, the most fascinating place I have ever had the pleasure to visit is undoubtedly Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park. It is the tallest of 17 mountains on Mount Desert Island, Maine. You can choose to walk, bike-ride, or drive up the scenic, winding path to the peak of the mountain, and though we chose to drive, the views we took in on the way up were still very memorable. However, the true treat comes once you reach the top of the Mountain. At 1,532 feet Cadillac Mountain is the highest point along the North Atlantic seaboard and is the first place to view sunrise in the United States from October 7 through March 6, something which I gladly took advantage of. The view from atop the mountain is absolutely breathtaking to say the least. The panoramic view of the Atlantic and other local islands, coupled with the green forests and wild blueberries that cover the mountain make for an unbelievably beautiful sight, one that I will remember forever.
Aside from the experience of Cadillac Mountain, I'd have to say the next most spectacular site I've set my eyes on would have to be Times Square, especially at night. I'll never forget the first time I experienced it when I was younger and how it was truly overwhelming. Luckily, living not very far from New York City, I've been able to take in the image many times since, as well as other signature sites of the city, which include the Statue of Liberty by ferry, and sadly, Ground Zero.

I think for me the most fascinating place I have ever seen is six flags great adventures, it’s kind of silly but believed me; I was extremely amazed by the entire setting of the park. They were so many rides to choose from I was confused my mother told me twice “pick a ride.” When I finally pick a ride the line was extremely long it took us at least an hour to get on a ride. The ride that I wanted to go on so bad was batman and robin “the chiller” like most rides this one was over a 100 mph. when I got on I got off…yeah it was just that fast we were all wondering did we moved from where we were before. I would definitely visit New Jersey six flags great adventures again…

From the couple of places I have visited I found that La Cueva del Diablo, or Devil’s Cave in the Dominican Republic was the most fascinating you need to go horseback riding, and hiking in order to enter the cave. Among the other adventures you rappel down approximately 20 meters making your way to explore the underground rock formations, cave paintings rivers and tunnels. This cave is also said to be one of the largest in the world. Visiting this site has definately made me adventurous and strongerI would definately recomend this destination to teenagers because its both educational and fun.

I have visited many places but the most fascinating place i have ever visited so far is in my country. Tikal National Park in St. Peten is the most popular tourist stop to visit. Tikal was abandoned by the Maya over 1000 years ago and overgrown by jungle but later discovered but som people. There are many impressive wildlife temples and pyramids but on top of that is u want to learn more when your there, there are museums to visit. Its a good hiking place too. While hiking in tikal one can see monkeys swing in trees. Its just the most beaitful place ever.

if any one wants to know more about tikal u can go to the website www.tikalpark.com

The most fascinating place that I have ever seen is Central Park in Manhattan viewed from the 74th floor of a penthouse apartment in Columbus Circle. The apartment had other fascinating views of the entire city but I could not keep my eyes off the park. It is just amazing to me how some of the highest and most congested buildings in the world come to a complete stop at Central Park South, West and East.
Every time I step into Central Park, it is like stepping into another world. One that is free of buildings, heavy traffic and the whole city atmosphere. There are hills, rocks, fields, flowers, tall old trees and birds everywhere. Everything you don’t typically expect Manhattan to have is in the park.
Perhaps what was most fascinating thing about seeing it from above was the overall size of it. It is really huge and takes up most of central Manhattan north of midtown. The park is 843 acres. It is 150 years old and was planned so well that you’d think the park was made to conform to the city, but it is really the other way around.
If you ever visit Central Park, you can go to the zoo, go ice-skating, look at the beautiful fountains and bridges, go on the carrousel, and you must visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I think if it as New York’s louvre. Nothing to me is as impressive as seeing the park from above tree level. You can see it from the top of Rockefeller Center, the Empire State building, and more intimately at the Time Warner Center/ Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
