Australia

This week we will talk about Australia- another fascinating part of the world. Many people aspire to go there but few do, mainly because it is so far away. If you live on the East Coast of the United States you must first fly to Los Angeles or San Francisco and then board another flight for 14 hours.

I've been fortunate to visit Australia 4 times with another visit planned for this July. I have a good friend who lives there so when I am there I get an inside perspective of this beautiful country.

I will talk more about the country and its people in class, but until then, what are your thoughts and perceptions of this country? What have you heard about it's people and culture? Would you want to go there? If so, where would you like to visit? Many people can only get to Sydney or the Barrier Reef when they are there but the country is rich with incredible cities and sites such as Melbourne, Perth, Darwin, Alice Springs, and the Kimberly.

I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts.

I think the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Australia would be: the Opera House, Koala bears, and Kangaroo’s. Other than that, I’ve never really heard much else about Australia. My parents have been there, but that was when I was a baby. So basically all I’ve seen of Australia is pictures from their trip. The one picture that I always remember is the one of the Opera House. I find the architecture of the building fascinating and it is a site I would love to see with my own eyes.

I also remember from a few Olympics ago there was an aborigine who did very well. This was the first time I had actually heard of the people and I was very curious to learn more about their culture and origins.

Sydney seems like a beautiful city. I would love to experience and learn more about their culture. I’m not sure I will be eating any Kangaroo meat, but Australia is definitely a place that I want to go to.

I have always wanted to visit Australia because i like to see all the exotic animals like the kangaroo, the panda bear, and the Koala bears.

I would also enjoy visiting the Opera House. (I have always wanted to go hot air ballooning and parachuting so I think a trio to Alice Springs wouldn't be such a bad idea.

I have heard about the gorgeous resorts, beaches, and rain forests, and the great Coral Reef located in Queenlands which has inspired me to want to visit this so called adventurous continent.

I would really like to go to Australia because i have family that lives there and they always tell me how beautiful it is at Sydney. Like Lissa said on her comment, the Sydney opera house reminds me of Finding Nemo and everything in it looks cool. Also after we watched the video in class, i am actually interested in living there because the people look very relaxed and careless. Another thing is that i would love to scuba dive at their coral reef and see all of the exotic and strange animals they have thre.I've always enjoyed nature and it seems like Australia is a place where people are in touch with it.

I really don’t know much about Australia but I am eager to learn a lot about this place. When I think about Australia, Steve Erwin and the opera house comes to my mind. After watch that tape in class I definitely want to visit Australia but where to go? I go to Sydney because it’s the most talk about place in Australia. The video we were watching in class have a lot of outdoor activities like swimming with the sharks and much more water sports that I would find very interested. Also know that Australia is know to have a lots of parks and animals from all over the world bears, kangaroos and alligators just to name a few, I’m not a big fan of animals like those but going to Australia would really changed my mind from that. One other thing the students on the school trip really looked like they had a wonderful time and they enjoyed the experience. I hope we can go sometime..

Australia is a beautiful country; I would like to visit it some day, when I can offer anything in my life. I really don’t know as much about Australia but Australia has the most beautiful beaches and I found out that their weather is different from the U.S. the weather in the U.S. is the opposite from ours. I am not really sure about the people and the cultural of Australia, all that I know is they have slang words, but that’s it. Yes in fact I would like to go there so I can learn more about the country and the people. I would like to visit any beach and then I would like to visit the zoo they have there.
